Mounted (matted) ready for framing on textured white card and backing card with cellophane protective wrapping
Overall size of the mount measures approx. 16" x 12" (which means it will fit standard size picture frame). The visible picture opening is 11.5" x 7.75"
Inscribed and bears the Pittuck Estate Blindstamp below the mount.
CONDITION: A ltttle toning to the paper and minor scattered marks commensurate with age and type (see photos)
About the Artist:
Painter, notably of landscapes, and teacher; born in London. Studied at Ruskin School of Drawing, Oxford, part-time in 1931–9, then from 1946–8 full-time, his teachers including Percy Horton and Barnett Freedman. Exhibited at Cooling Galleries, RBA, at public galleries in Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne and Darlington and had several one-man shows. Ashmolean Museum in Oxford holds his work. Lived in Barnard Castle, County Durham, where Glaxo Laboratories commissioned a mural by him.
