Overall size of the mount measures approx. 12" x 10" (which means it will fit standard size picture frame). The visible picture opening is 7.5" x 5.5"
A really nice, atmospheric watercolour. The colours are bright. Ready for you to frame.
CONDITION: Some age related discolouration to the paper and minor blemishes, typical of this type of work.
About the Artist:
Painter, draughtsman, illustrator and teacher, born at Stirkoke Mains, Caithness, in which county he eventually settled at Lybster. Studied at Edinburgh College of Art from 1940–2 and 1946–8, his teachers including John Maxwell and William Gillies; also at the School of Art in Hospitalfield, Arbroath, under Ian Fleming, 1949. Showed at SSA, Society of Caithness Artists, RSA, RSW and in Canada. Edinburgh College of Art holds his work.
