Painted like the vast majority of Walls's Works, on grey paper. A really nice Sketch, ready for you to frame.
I have acquired a large number of William Walls watercolour sketches, covering the period 1900 until his death.
Some works are signed, most are inscribed and dated.
About the Artist:
Walls was a landscape and animal painter based in Edinburgh. He studied there at the Royal Scottish Academy and at the Antwerp Academy. He was a noted tutor, teaching at Edinburgh’s College of Art. He was elected a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour in 1906 and the Royal Scottish Academy eight years later. A prolific artist, Walls showed over 200 works at the RSA, almost 100 at the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts and 18 at the Royal Academy, London.
