About the Artist:
Painter, notably a landscape watercolourist of Scottish subjects, who lived for many years in Glasgow, later at Newton Mearns, Renfrewshire. He was a member of Glasgow’s Art Club and a regular and prolific exhibitor at the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts from 1912–64, also showing at RSA, RSW, RA and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow, has his oil Symington, Ayrshire, bought in 1944. The Glasgow Institute’s Blythswood Gallery put on a memorial show, another being held later in the city at the Armstrong Gallery.
